But according to legend, sambar originated in the kitchens of Shahuji, a Maratha ruler in Thanjavur, and is named after Sambhaji for whom it was prepared.

Spicy Sambar Masala preserves the traditional taste of sambar with the feel-good factor of a homegrown recipe. We create familiar flavors by roasting whole spices and lentils.
